Build your golf wardrobe
Plan layers for a changing golf day
Balance movement, temperature and space in the bag.
Plan for the forecast across the whole round rather than only the starting temperature. A simple layering system lets you adjust without changing the fit of every garment. Check the course’s dress expectations and any published garment instructions.
Work through it
- Choose a base outfit that allows a full swing. Add a light layer that fits over it without tightening the shoulders or sleeves.
- Consider wind and rain separately from temperature. Confirm the stated weather properties of the outer layer instead of assuming that all lightweight fabrics repel water.
- Practice taking layers on and off and packing them. Keep the items you are likely to need accessible without unpacking the whole bag.
Check your result
- Layers do not restrict the swing.
- Weather properties are checked.
- The packed outfit is manageable.
