Fit and movement
Measure a polo that fits you well
Create a useful reference before comparing a size chart.
Size labels vary by garment and maker. Start with a polo you already enjoy wearing and measure it consistently. Garment measurements and body measurements are different; check which type a future size chart provides before comparing numbers.
Work through it
- Lay the polo flat without stretching it. Measure chest width across the garment, then body length from the stated shoulder point and sleeve length using a consistent method.
- Write down the method and units alongside the measurements. Note whether the reference garment is relaxed, fitted or intentionally oversized.
- Compare with the published chart for the exact garment when one is available. Ask for clarification if the chart does not explain its measurement method.
Check your result
- Units and measurement method are recorded.
- The reference garment has the desired fit.
- The exact product chart is used.
