Fit and movement

Check a polo through a golf swing

Look beyond standing fit when evaluating comfort.

2 minute read · Updated September 17, 2026

A polo that looks tidy while standing may pull during a swing or ride up when reaching. Try the movements you will actually make, using the layers and waistband arrangement you expect to wear on the course.

Work through it

  1. Check shoulder seams, chest ease and sleeve openings with your arms relaxed. Note any pressure before moving.
  2. Rotate through a slow practice swing and reach forward as if addressing the ball. Watch for pulling across the upper back and restriction at the upper arms.
  3. Sit, bend and reach overhead. Recheck the collar and hem, then decide whether the amount of movement suits your preference.

Check your result

  • The back and sleeves allow comfortable motion.
  • The hem behaves as intended.
  • The fit works with the planned base layer.
